Main memory

The additional main memory required depends mainly on the total size of all the user contexts. The R/3 installation guidelines presently recommend 256 MB main memory or approximately 200 MB plus 6 MB per user.

The following generally applies: Have as much main memory as possible.

In the standard SD Benchmark of the R/3 System, an additional main memory requirement of approximately 25% was visible. However, you cannot readily apply this amount to other R/3 applications. In each case, you can increase the system throughput using a larger main memory extension.
